Legitimate Interest Assessment

We have a specific purpose with a defined benefit

To provide data subjects with access to good educational Resources that they wish to use to support their studies.

The processing is necessary to achieve the defined benefit.

Some of the resources have access restrictions that mean some personal information is needed to verify that the data subject has the right of access. Details of access to the site are stored for security, for troubleshooting and to improve the site

The purpose is balanced against the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject, and these do not override our legitimate interest.

It is in ours and the data subject’s interest to provide them with access to resources that they wish to use.

Since the processing of data is kept to a minimum this approach ensures that the benefit gained from the processing to us and the data subject is greater than any risk posed to the interests, rights and freedoms of data subjects.
