Data about the use of the various resources is aggregated. This is not personal because it does not reveal your identity. It is used to inform the development of the site, help optimise the use of the site and for academic research into Theological Education.

We have a specific purpose with a defined benefit

To provide data subjects with access to good educational Resources that they wish to use to support their studies.

The processing is necessary to achieve the defined benefit.

Some of the resources have access restrictions that mean some personal information is needed to verify that the data subject has the right of access. Details of access to the site are stored for security, for troubleshooting and to improve the site

The purpose is balanced against the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject, and these do not override our legitimate interest.

It is in ours and the data subject’s interest to provide them with access to resources that they wish to use. 

Since the processing of data is kept to a minimum this approach ensures that the benefit gained from the processing to us and the data subject is greater than any risk posed to the interests, rights and freedoms of data subjects.

4. Who we collect from or share your information with:

We collect basic personal information about you from the Home Moodle site when you accessed this site, see above.

a) We do not share any information gathered from your usage of this site with your Training Institution. Your personal data will not be sent to countries outside of the UK.

b) This site provides access and links to different resource providers. We do not provide these sites with any information about you. Each of these will have their own privacy policy.

c) There are various points on this site where you have the option to sign up with one of our service providers (such as book publishers) to receive additional information. These are clearly indicated and they will ask for your consent when you use such a service. In these cases, we will pass on the following information automatically, along with any other information you are asked to enter at the time

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Training Institution

 

d) Aggregated data for different types of user (which includes no personally identifiable information) will be shared with the following people

  1. Training Institutions using this site
  2. Resource providers, e.g. publishers
  3. Academic Researchers looking at Theological Education who gone through an appropriate research ethical approval process (e.g. through Durham University) and whose research will benefit Theological Education.

 

5. How long do we keep your information?

Data is kept for a maximum of three years after your last access to the site. Each January, any user who has not accessed the site in the last 24 months will have their personal identifiable data deleted. You may request that your personal data is deleted prior to this.

 

6. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to be informed about any data we hold about you;
  • The right to request a copy of your personal data which we hold about you;
  • The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;
  • The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary for us to retain such data;
  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;
  • The right to object to the processing of your personal data
  • The right to obtain and reuse your personal data to move, copy or transfer it from one IT system to another
